Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 398764 Size: SH
  1. Loosen the clamp and separate the air cleaner inlet elbow (3) (from the turbocharger (2) and the air cleaner assembly (1).

    2. Object Number: 398971 Size: SH
  2. Loosen the 4 air cleaner cover retain bolts and remove cover.
  3. Remove the air cleaner element.
    4. • Inspect the CDR hose for cracks or binds.
    • Inspect the air cleaner cover seals for damage.
    • Inspect the air cleaner filter for damage or excessive dirt accumulation.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 398971 Size: SH
  1. Install the air cleaner element.
  2. Install the air cleaner cover and tighten the 4 retain bolts.

    3. Object Number: 398764 Size: SH
  3. Install the air cleaner inlet elbow into the turbocharger.
  4. Tighten the elbow clamp.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the elbow clamp to 4 N·m (40 lb in).
