    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the intake manifold studs in the manifold face.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the intake manifold studs to 6 N·m (60 lb in).

    Important: Gaskets must be clean. Swollen gaskets should be replaced.

  3. Install a new intake manifold gasket on the intake manifold (if necessary).
  4. Install the intake manifold.
  5. Install the intake manifold bolts and nuts. Follow the tightening sequence.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts and nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  7. Install the fuel rail assembly.
  8. Install the fuel rail stud.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the stud to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  10. Install new throttle body studs if necessary.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the studs to 6 N·m (60 lb in).


    Object Number: 412128  Size: SH
  12. Install the throttle body.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts and nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  14. Install the pressure regulator vacuum harness.

  16. Install the knock sensor connector on intake manifold.
