Door Body Side Molding Replacement Model
Removal Procedure
- Remove the screw (2) from the
trim.
- Remove the nut (5) from the trim.
- Remove the lower edge of the molding (3) from the retaining
clips (1).
- Remove the molding from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Position the molding (3) over
the top of the retaining clips (1).
- Install the molding to the front door with a nut (5).
- Insert the stud at the front of the molding into the slot in the
door.
- Snap the molding (3) over the lower portion of the clips (1).
- Open the door.
- For the fore/aft alignment, align the upper rear corner of the
molding with the door hem flange.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Secure the nut (5).
Tighten
Tighten the nut to X N·m (XX lb in).
- Secure the rear of the molding with a screw.
- Install the screw (2) to the rear of the molding.
Tighten
Tighten the screw to X.X N·m (XX lb in).
