Fascia Grille Replacement Model
Removal Procedure
Tools Required
J 38778 Door Trim Panel and Garnish Clip Remover
- Open the hood.
- Remove upper radiator air baffle. Refer to Radiator Air Baffle
Assemblies and Deflectors (Upper) in Engine Cooling.
- Remove the push-in retainers from the upper grille using J 38778.
- Remove the nuts from the ends of the
grille.
- Remove the grille from the front bumper fascia, by pulling forward
and up to release the retainers.
Installation Procedure
- Align the grille lower retainer tabs
to the front bumper fascia.
- Install the lower grille to the front bumper fascia , by pressing
down until the tabs are fully seated.
- Align the grill outer location pins by manipulating the
front bumper fascia and pressing in the grille until fully seated.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the nuts to the ends of the grille.
Tighten
Tighten the grille nuts to X N·m (XX lb in).
- Install the push-in retainers to the
upper grille.
- Install upper radiator air baffle. Refer to Radiator Air Baffle
Assemblies and Deflectors (Upper) in Engine Cooling.
- Close the hood.
