Removal Procedure
  1. Open the hood.
  2. Remove the upper filler panel. Refer to [ADD LINK].
  3. Remove the hood latch. Refer to [ADD LINK].

    4. Object Number: 457383 Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the hood release cable (1) from the hood latch (2).
  5. Tie a piece of string around the hood release cable. This will ease the installation of the hood release cable through the engine compartment.
  6. Remove the front wheelhouse liner. Refer to [ADD LINK].

    7. Object Number: 457386 Size: SH
  7. Open the clips (1) retaining the hood release cable to the vehicle.

    8. Object Number: 130468 Size: SH
  8. Remove the fasteners (2) securing the hood release handle (1) to the vehicle.
  9. Disconnect the hood release cable from the hood release handle (1). [VEHICLE SPECIFIC]
  10. Remove the hood release cable through the thermal barrier into the passenger compartment.

    11. Object Number: 130471 Size: SH
  11. Remove the hood release cable from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure
  1. Connect the hood release cable to the hood release handle (1). [VEHICLE SPECIFIC]
  2. Transfer the string to either end of the hood release cable to be installed.

    3. Object Number: 130471 Size: SH
  3. Route the string and the hood release cable into the wheel opening though the passenger compartment.

    4. Object Number: 130468 Size: SH
  4. Install the retainer screws (2) to retain the hood release handle (1) to the vehicle.
  5. Position and press the hood release cable grommet (2) into the wheel opening.
  6. Pull the string and the hood release cable through the engine compartment.
  7. Remove the string from the hood release cable.

    8. Object Number: 457386 Size: SH
  8. Position the hood release cable in the clips (1). Secure the hood release cable inside the wheel house.
  9. Close the clips in order to install the hood latch. Refer to [ADD LINK].
  10. Install the front wheelhouse liner. Refer to [ADD LINK].
  11. Install the upper filler panel. Refer to [ADD LINK].
  12. Close the hood.
