Removal Procedure

Caution: When you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, you must disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause air bag deployment, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs.

  1. Remove the front bucket seat. Refer to [ADD LINK].
  2. Remove the seat belt retractors from the front seat. Refer to [ADD LINK] in Seat Belts.
  3. Remove the headrest. Refer to [ADD LINK].
  4. Remove the side impact air bag. Refer to [ADD LINK] in SIR.
  5. Disconnect the air lines for the lumbar if equipped.

  7. Disconnect the heated seat electrical connector to the seat back.
  8. Remove all of the seat back cover J channels retaining the seat back cover and pad to the seat back frame.

  9. Object Number: 315294  Size: SH
  10. Remove the seat cover (1) and cushion (2) from the seat back frame.
  11. Cut hog rings retaining seat back cover (1) to the seat back cushion (2).
  12. Remove the seat back cover (1) from the seat back cushion (2).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 315294  Size: SH
  1. Install the seat back cover (1) to the seat back cushion (2).
  2. Align the seat cover (1) to the seat pad (2) and install the hog rings that retain the seat back cover (1) to the cushion (2).
  3. Position the seat back cover and pad (1,2) to the seat back frame.
  4. Install the J channels to seat back frame.

  5. Object Number: 295170  Size: SH
  6. Connect the heated seat electrical connectors.
  7. Connect lumbar air lines if equipped.
  8. Install the front side impact air bag. Refer to [ADD LINK] in SIR.
  9. Install the front seat belt retractors to the front seat. Refer to [ADD LINK] in Seat Belts.
  10. Install the headrest. Refer to [ADD LINK].
  11. Install the front bucket seat into the vehicle. Refer to [ADD LINK].
