Removal Procedure

    Caution: When you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, you must disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause air bag deployment, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs.

  1. Disable the SIR System. Refer to Disabling the SIR System

  2. Object Number: 517272  Size: SH
  3. Move the front seat rearward in order to access the front seat track trim covers (1).
  4. Remove the seat track trim covers (1), both left and right, from the seat track.
  5. Important: Tilting the front seats forward can damage the umbrella tray. [VEHICLE SPECIFIC]

  6. Remove the front seat storage tray. Refer to [ADD LINK].

  7. Object Number: 517270  Size: SH
  8. Remove the front seat track anchor fasteners (1).
  9. Move the seat to the full forward position.
  10. Position the seat back to the vertical position.

  11. Object Number: 517267  Size: SH
  12. Remove the seat track trim cover (1) and the seat track anchor fastener access plug (2) from the rear of the seat track.

  13. Object Number: 291651  Size: SH
  14. Remove the seat track anchor fasteners from the rear of the seat track.

  15. Object Number: 291660  Size: SH
  16. Disconnect the seat electrical connectors.
  17. With the aid of an assistant, remove the seat from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. With the aid of an assistant, install the seat into the vehicle, .
  2. Connect the electrical connectors.

  3. Object Number: 291651  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the rear seat track anchor fasteners.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the rear seat track anchor fasteners to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  6. Install the rear seat track trim cover (1) and the fastener access plug (2).

  7. Object Number: 517270  Size: SH
  8. Move the front seat rearward.
  9. Install the front seat track anchor fasteners (1).
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the front seat track anchor fasteners (1) to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  11. Install the trim covers (1).
  12. Install the front storage tray to the front seat. Refer to [ADD LINK].
  13. Enable the SIR System. Refer to [ADD LINK].
