Removal Procedure

Caution: When you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, you must disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause air bag deployment, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs.

The lumbar massage module is hooked on the seat back frame cross brace and fastened to the seat belt shoulder strap adjuster tower with hook and loop material in order to hold the module in place.

  1. Remove the seat back trim panel. Refer to [ADD LINK].

  2. Object Number: 629631  Size: SH
  3. Locate the massaging lumbar module (1) on the seat back frame, next to the shoulder belt adjuster tower, hooked to the seat back frame cross brace (3).
  4. Release the hook and loop material (2) that retains the massaging lumbar module (1) to the seat back frame.
  5. Push up on the massaging lumbar module (1) in order to un-hook the massaging lumbar module (1) from the seat back frame cross brace (3).

  6. Object Number: 629635  Size: SH
  7. Remove the massaging lumbar module (1) from the seat back.
  8. Disconnect the massage lumbar module (1) electrical connector.
  9. Remove the massaging lumbar module (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 629635  Size: SH
  1. Connect the electrical connector to the massaging lumbar module (1).
  2. Install the massaging lumbar module (1) into the upper corner of the seat back next to the shoulder belt adjuster tower.

  3. Object Number: 629631  Size: SH
  4. Hook the tab on the massaging lumbar module (1) to the seat back frame cross brace (3).
  5. Secure the module (1) to the seat belt shoulder strap adjuster tower and seat back cross brace (3) with the hook and loop material (2).
  6. Install the seat back trim panel. Refer to [ADD LINK].
