Endgate Handle Replacement Pickup

1. Loosen the handle bolts.




Notice: When removing body panels, apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent surfaces to help prevent paint damage.

2. Remove the handle bezel by prying gently on the upper snap-in-tabs.



3. Disengage the linkage rod retainer clips (1) in order to remove the linkage rods.



4. Remove the fasteners that secure the handle to the endgate.
5. Remove the handle assembly from the endgate.

1. Position the handle assembly on the endgate.




Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

2. Tighten the handle bolts.

Install the handle fasteners in order to secure the handle to the endgate.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).




3. Install the linkage rods (1) to the handle.
4. Engage the linkage rod retainer clips in order to secure.



5. Install the handle bezel.

1. Open the liftgate.
2. Remove the trim panel. Refer to [ADD LINK] and [ADD LINK]..
3. Remove the actuator cable assembly from handle.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the handle.
5. Remove the two fasteners from the handle assembly.



6. Remove the handle assembly.

1. Install the handle assembly into the liftgate.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. 2. Install the two fasteners onto the handle assembly from the back of the endgate.

Tighten
Tighten the endgate to handle bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

3. Install the actuator cable assembly to the handle.
4. Connect the electrical connector to the handle assembly.
5. Install the liftgate trim panel. Refer to [ADD LINK] and [ADD LINK]. .
