Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 742  Size: SH

    Important: With the endgate in the closed position, the bolts are accessible underneath the vehicle between the bumper and the vehicle body. [CHECK FOR SAFETY ISSUES AND SPECIAL TOOLS]

  1. Remove the fasteners that secure the endgate torque rod bracket to the vehicle body.
  2. Open the endgate.

  3. Object Number: 300358  Size: SH
  4. Remove the fasteners that secure the endgate torque rod insulator to the endgate.
  5. Remove the endgate torque rod.
  6. Remove the endgate bracket.
  7. Remove the insulator from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 742  Size: SH
  1. Install the insulator to the vehicle.
  2. Install the endgate bracket.
  3. Install the endgate torque rod.

  4. Object Number: 300358  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the fasteners in order to secure the endgate torque rod bracket to the vehicle body.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 10 N·m (88 lb in).
