Removal Procedure

    Notice: When removing body panels, apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent surfaces to help prevent paint damage.

  1. Open the rear compartment lid.
  2. Remove the rear compartment lid trim panel. Refer to [ADD LINK].
  3. Remove the rear compartment lid wiring harness from the rear compartment lid. Refer to [ADD LINK].

  4. Object Number: 105326  Size: SH
  5. With the aid of a an assistant, remove the fasteners (3) securing the rear compartment lid (1) to the rear compartment lid hinge (2).
  6. Remove the rear compartment lid (1) from the vehicle.
  7. Remove the backup lamp. Refer to [ADD LINK] in Lighting Systems.
  8. Remove the high mounted stoplamp. Refer to [ADD LINK].
  9. Remove the rear compartment lid latch. Refer to [ADD LINK].
  10. Remove the rear compartment lid lock cylinder. Refer to [ADD LINK].

  12. Remove the rear compartment lid overslam bumpers (2) from the rear compartment lid (1).

  13. Object Number: 552396  Size: SH
  14. Remove the rear compartment lid drain plugs (1, 2, and 3) from the rear compartment lid.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 552396  Size: SH
  1. Install the rear compartment lid drain plugs (1,2, and 3) into the rear compartment lid.

  2. Object Number: 459961  Size: SH
  3. Install the rear compartment lid overslam bumpers (2) to the rear compartment lid (1).
  4. Install the rear compartment lid lock cylinder. Refer to [ADD LINK].
  5. Install the rear compartment lid latch. Refer to [ADD LINK].
  6. Install the high mounted stoplamp. Refer to [ADD LINK].
  7. Install the backup lamp. Refer to [ADD LINK] in Lighting Systems.

  9. With the aid of an assistant, install the rear compartment lid (1) to the vehicle.
  10. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  11. Install the fasteners (3) in order to secure the rear compartment lid (1) to the rear compartment lid hinge (2).
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 25 N·m  (18 lb ft).

  13. Adjust rear compartment lid as necessary. Refer to [ADD LINK].
  14. Install the rear compartment lid wiring harness from the rear compartment lid. Refer to . [ADD LINK].
  15. Install the rear compartment lid trim panel. Refer to [ADD LINK].
  16. Close the rear compartment lid.
  17. Remove the tape and residue from all painted surfaces.
