Removal Procedure

    Caution: When a lift window hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

    Caution: Do not attempt to remove or loosen gas support assembly attachments with glass in any position other than fully open as personal injury may result.

  1. Open the liftgate window and support the liftgate window.

    2. Object Number: 594504 Size: SH
  2. Remove and discard the retainer from the hinge pin.
  3. Remove and discard the hinge pin from the upper end of the liftgate window strut.
  4. Release the retainer clip in order to remove the strut from the ball stud.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 594504 Size: SH
  1. Install the lower end of the strut to the ball stud
  2. Install the new hinge pin to the upper end of the liftgate window strut.
  3. Install the new retainer clip to the hinge pin.
