Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 748  Size: SH
  1. Remove the handle assembly. Refer to [ADD LINK]..
  2. Remove the endgate trim panel. Refer to [ADD LINK].
  3. Remove the endgate bellcrank rod from the endgate inside handle assembly.
  4. Remove the fasteners that secure the endgate cover to the endgate.
  5. Remove the endgate cover.
  6. Release the endgate latch rods from the latch rod clips.

  7. Object Number: 595761  Size: SH

    Caution: Eye protection must be worn when drilling rivets to reduce the chance of personal injury.

  8. Drill out the rivets that secure the handle assembly to the endgate.
  9. Remove the handle from the endgate cover.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 595761  Size: SH
  1. Install the inside handle assembly to the endgate cover using 2 rivets. [ADD CORRECT RIVET TYPE]

  2. Object Number: 748  Size: SH
  3. Install the endgate bellcrank rod to the endgate inside handle assembly.
  4. Secure the endgate latch rods to the latch rod clips.
  5. Install the endgate cover to the endgate.
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the fasteners in order to secure the endgate cover to the endgate.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 1.2 N·m (11 lb in).

  9. Install the endgate trim panel. Refer to [ADD LINK].
  10. Install the handle assembly. Refer to [ADD LINK].
