Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 488880 Size: SH
  1. Remove the right rear compartment side trim. Refer to [ADD LINK] in Body Rear End.

    2. Object Number: 488881 Size: SH
  2. Insert a small flat bladed tool under the locking tab and unlock the electrical connector.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the rear object detection module.

    4. Object Number: 488882 Size: SH
  4. Remove the fasteners.
  5. Remove the rear object detection module.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 488882 Size: SH
  1. Install the rear object detection module.

    2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install the rear object detection module fasteners.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the rear object detection module fasteners to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  3. Install the electrical connector to the rear object detection module and press in the locking tab.
  4. Install the rear compartment side trim. Refer to [ADD LINK] in Body Rear End.
