  1. Assemble the camshaft cover and gasket, use care to make sure that the gasket is located in the retaining groove in the camshaft cover.
  2. Install the cover on the cylinder head and hand start the bolts.

  3. Object Number: 412139  Size: SH
  4. Install the ground strap.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Tighten
    Tighten the camshaft cover bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

    Tighten
    Tighten the camshaft cover ground strap bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  6. Install spark plugs.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten spark plugs to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  8. Install the ignition coil and module assembly to the cam cover.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the ignition coil and module assembly bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  10. Install the power steering pump (if equipped)(LS).
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the power steering pump to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  12. Install the power steering pump blockout plate (if equipped)(SUV).
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the power steering pump to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
