Tools Required

    • J 4972-4 Output Shaft Needle Bearing Installer
    • J 29162 Rear Retainer Seal Installer
    • J 29369-2 Bushing and Universal Remover

    Object Number: 850513 Size: SH
  1. Remove the axle seal

    2. Object Number: 850519 Size: SH

    Important: Clean the seal bore in solvent. Inspect for nicks caused by seal removal.

  2. Using the J 29162 , install the axle shaft oil seal into the cover.
  3. Fill the transfer case with fluid, after it is installed in the vehicle, to the bottom of the fill plug hole, or 500 ml (17 oz).
