- Depending on which retractor is having the malfunction, get inside
the vehicle and close the door.
- Disconnect either the RH or LH seat belt retractor connector.
- Test either seat belt retractor actuator ground circuit for a
short to ground. Refer to
Circuit Testing
and
Wiring Repairs
in Wiring Systems.

- Using a test lamp test the seat belt retractor actuator connector
from battery positive voltage to ground circuit in actuator. Refer to
Circuit Testing

Wiring Repairs

- Open the door.
Does the test lamp illuminate?

- Disconnect the Front door lock actuator connector, on the side
of vehicle that is malfunctioning.
- Test the ground circuit for an open or high resistance that connects
seat belt retractor actuator and front door lock actuator. Refer to

- The front door lock actuator connector is still disconnected.
- Using a test lamp test the front door lock actuator connector
from battery positive voltage to ground circuit in actuator. Refer to
