GM Service Manual Online
For 1990-2009 cars only
AFO Enable Relay Circuit Status: Display shows FAULT, NO FAULT. This display indicates the monitored status of the output driver circuit for this output. NO FAULT should always be indicated unless a circuit fault is monitored.

Alternative Fuel Mileage Log: Display shows kilometers, miles. This display shows the distance the vehicle has operated using CNG fuel.

Alternative Fuel Run Time Log: Display shows Hours: minutes: seconds. This display shows the amount of time the engine has operated using CNG fuel.

AFO Relay Command: Display shows ALT FUEL or GASOLINE. This display monitors the alternative fuels operation (AFO) enable circuit output driver. Alternative fuel operation is requested when the PCM grounds the AFO enable Signal circuit to the AF Relay.

Consecutive CNG Starts: Display shows 0 to 100. This display shows how many consecutive CNG starts without a fuel system switch over.

FICM Diagnostic Circuit Status: Display shows FAULT or NO FAULT. This display indicates the monitored status of the output driver circuit for this output. NO FAULT should always be indicated unless a circuit fault is monitored.

Fuel Gage Select Switch: Display shows RELEASED or APPLIED. This display indicates the monitored status of the Fuel Gage Select Switch input. The display will indicate RELEASED until the fuel gauge select switch is pressed.

Fuel Indicator Lamp Command: Display shows ON or OFF. This display will indicate OFF while the vehicle is operating on CNG, and ON while operating on gasoline.

Fuel Mode Command: Display shows ALT FUEL or GASOLINE. This display indicates which fuel system the vehicle is operating on.

Fuel Mode Indicator Lamp Circuit Status: Display shows FAULT or NO FAULT. This display indicates the monitored status of the output driver circuit for this output. NO FAULT should always be indicated unless a circuit fault is monitored.

Fuel Mode Switchover Reason: Display shows DTC SET, LOW FRP, LOW FTP, EXT. CRANK, 100th START, ECT LOW TEMP, NOT SWITCHED. This display indicates the reason that the vehicle switched from CNG operation to gasoline operation.

Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor: Display shows voltage from 0.0 to 5.0 and pressure from 0 to 772 kPa (0 to 112 psi). This display indicates the CNG fuel rail pressure. The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the fuel rail pressure (FRP) sensor in order to calculate the correct fuel injector pulse width.

Fuel Rail Temperature Sensor: Display shows voltage from 0.0 to 5.0 and temperature from -40°C to 150°C (-40°F to 302°F). This display indicates the temperature of the CNG fuel within the fuel rail. The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the fuel rail temperature (FRT) sensor in order to calculate the correct fuel injector pulse width.

Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor: Display shows voltage from 0.0 to 5.0 and pressure from 0 to 4064 psi. This display indicates the CNG fuel tank pressure. The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor and the fuel tank temperature (FTT) sensor information in order to calculate the correct CNG fuel level remaining in the tank.

Fuel Temperature Sensor: Display shows voltage from 0.0 to 5.0 and temperature from -40°C to 150°C (-40°F to 302°F). This display indicates the temperature of the CNG fuel within the fuel tank. The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the fuel tank temperature (FTT) sensor and the fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor information in order to calculate the correct CNG fuel level remaining in the tank. The FTT sensor is a non-serviceable part of the high pressure lock-off solenoid.

Gasoline Fuel Run Time Log: Display shows Hours: minutes: seconds. This display shows the amount of time the engine has operated using gasoline fuel.

Gasoline Fuel Mileage Log: Display shows kilometers, miles. This display shows the distance the vehicle has operated using gasoline fuel.

High Pressure Lockoff Solenoid Command: Display shows FUEL FLOW or NO FUEL FLOW. This display indicates the commanded state of the high pressure lock-off solenoid. The PCM opens the HPL for one second at EVERY ignition ON in order to supply a prime pulse to the CNG fuel system.

Low Pressure Lockoff Solenoid Command: Display shows FUEL FLOW or NO FUEL FLOW. This display indicates the commanded state of the low pressure lock-off solenoid. During alternative fuel operation conditions the LPL remains closed until at least 25 RPM is monitored by the PCM.
