Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 470484 Size: SH
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
  2. Remove the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement .
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the traction control harness and feed the harness out of the column. Observe the harness routing and location to assist in reassembly.
  4. Remove the shift lever retaining screw.
  5. Pull the shift lever upward to remove the lever from the linear shift assembly.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 470484 Size: SH
  1. Push the shift lever downward to engage the lever into the linear shift assembly.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the shift lever retaining screw.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  3. Feed the traction control harness back through the column. Route the harness carefully as previously observed.
  4. Install the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement .
  5. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
