To replace a headlamp bulb, do the following:

1. Open the hood. See Hood Release for more information.




Low-Beam Headlamp

High-Beam Headlamp

2. Remove the three bolts from the headlamp assembly.
3. Pull out the headlamp assembly.
4. Release the two wire bars that retain the headlamp cap by pushing them outward.



5. Remove the headlamp cap.
6. Disconnect the two wiring harness connectors located on each side of the headlamp assembly.
7. Remove the old bulb.

•	To remove the high-beam headlamp bulb, release the spring that retains the bulb.

•	To remove the low-beam headlamp bulb, turn the bulb counterclockwise.

8. Install the new bulb.

•	To replace the high-beam headlamp bulb, install the bulb retaining spring.

•	To replace the low-beam headlamp bulb, turn the bulb clockwise.

9. Connect the wiring harness connector to the bulb and replace the headlamp cap.
10. Reverse Steps 1 through 6 to reinstall the headlamp assembly.

Headlamps Hatchback

To replace a headlamp bulb:

1. Open the hood. See Hood Release .
2. Remove the five screws from top of the radiator grille and remove the radiator grille.



3. Remove the three bolts from the headlamp assembly and remove the headlamp assembly.
4. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the rear of the bulb.



5. Remove the headlamp cap.



6. Release the spring that retains the bulb by loosening the screw.
7. Remove the old bulb and install the new bulb.
8. Install the bulb retaining spring and tighten the screw.



9. Reinstall the headlamp cap.
10. Reconnect the wiring harness at the rear of the bulb.



11. Reinstall the headlamp assembly and the three bolts.
12. Reinstall the radiator grille and five screws at the top of the grille.

To replace a headlamp bulb, do the following:

1. Open the hood. See Hood Release for more information.
2. For sedan and wagon models, remove the two bolts from the top of the headlamp assembly and one nut on the inside that retains the headlamp assembly.

For hatchback models, remove the four screws and the radiator grill. Then remove the three bolts and the headlamp assembly.

3. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the rear of the bulb.

Sedan and Wagon Models





Hatchback Models




4. Remove the headlamp cap (A for the low-beam or B for the high-beam headlamp) by turning it counterclockwise.
5. Release the spring that retains the bulb.
6. Remove the old bulb.
7. Install a new bulb.
8. Reverse Steps 1 through 5 to install the headlamp assembly.
