Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Verify that the power door locks are inoperative.

Do the power door locks operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. With a scan tool, observe the Door Lock Switch parameter in the doors data list.

Does the scan tool display Idle?

Go to Step 4

Activate the driver door lock switch to the LOCK and UNLOCK positions.

Does the scan tool display Idle?

Go to Step 9

Activate the front passenger door lock switch to the LOCK and UNLOCK positions.

Does the scan tool display Idle?

Go to Step 9

  1. With a scan tool, observe the driver door lock actuator command and the passenger Door Lock Actuator Command parameters in the doors data list.
  2. Activate a door lock switch to the LOCK and UNLOCK positions.

Does the scan tool display Idle?

  1. Replace the DOOR LOCK fuse.
  2. Disconnect all of the door lock actuators.
  3. Activate a door lock switch to the LOCK and UNLOCK positions.

Does the DOOR LOCK fuse open?

Test the door lock lock/unlock signal circuit of the driver and passenger door lock switches for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Test the appropriate door lock lock/unlock signal circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs .

Test the appropriate door lock actuator control circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Test the door lock actuator control circuits for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Test the ground circuit of the appropriate door lock switch for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .
