Sunroof Motor/Actuator Replacement C3Y

1. Partially remove and lower the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the motor/actuator left rear.
3. Remove the screws from the sunroof motor.
4. Pulling straight down to disengage the drive gear from the cables.
5. Remove the sunroof motor from the sunroof module.

1. Position the sunroof motor to the sunroof module.
2. Push the sunroof motor straight upward to engage the drive gear between the cables housed within the sunroof cable drive tubes.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

3. Install the sunroof motor screws.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

4. Connect the electrical connector to the sunroof motor left rear.
5. Raise and install the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
6. Initialize/teach the sunroof motor. Refer to Control Module References for programming and setup information.
7. Inspect the sunroof for proper operation.

Sunroof Motor/Actuator Replacement CF5

Important: The sunroof actuator drive shaft turns in both directions and contains no limit switches. You may replace the sunroof motor/actuator with the window panel in any position.

1. Remove the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the motor/actuator.



3. Remove the screws from the sunroof motor.
4. Pull straight down to disengage the drive gear from the cables housed within the sunroof cable drive tubes.
5. Remove the sunroof motor from the sunroof module.

1. Position the sunroof motor to the sunroof module.
2. Push the sunroof motor straight upward to engage the drive gear between the cables housed within the sunroof cable drive tubes.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

3. Install the sunroof actuator screws to the sunroof actuator.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 4 N·m (35 lb in).




4. Connect the electrical connector to the sunroof motor.
5. Install the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
6. Initialize/teach the sunroof motor. Refer to Control Module References for programming and setup information.
7. Inspect the sunroof for proper operation.
