Removal Procedure
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the rear wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Remove the muffler. Refer to Muffler Replacement in Engine Exhaust.
  4. Remove the lower control arms. Refer to Rear Axle Lower Control Arm Replacement .

  5. Remove the upper control arm to support assembly bolts and nuts.
  6. Remove the toe links. Refer to Toe Link Replacement .

    7. Object Number: 1236972 Size: SH
  7. Remove the stabilizer shaft to knuckle bolts.
  8. Disconnect the vehicle wiring harness from the clips on the support assembly.
  9. Using a suitable jack stand, support the support assembly.

    10. Object Number: 1242791 Size: SH
  10. Remove the support assembly to body bolts.
  11. With the aid of an assistant, remove the support assembly from the vehicle.
  12. Remove the stabilizer shaft. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Replacement .

Installation Procedure
  1. Install the stabilizer shaft. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Replacement .
  2. With the aid of an assistant, position the support assembly to the vehicle.
  3. Using a suitable jack stand, support the support assembly.

    4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the support assembly to body bolts.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 100 N·m (74 lb ft) plus 30 degrees.

  5. Remove the jack stand.
  6. Install the muffler. Refer to Muffler Replacement in Engine Exhaust.
  7. Connect the vehicle wiring harness to the clips on the support assembly.

    8. Object Number: 1236972 Size: SH
  8. Install the stabilizer shaft to knuckle bolts.

    9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  9. Install the toe links. Refer to Toe Link Replacement .

    10. Object Number: 1347517 Size: SH
  10. Install the upper control arm to support assembly bolts and nuts.

    11. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts and nuts to 60 N·m (44 lb ft) plus an additional 60 degrees.

  11. Install the lower control arms. Refer to Rear Axle Lower Control Arm Replacement .
  12. Install the rear wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  13. Lower the vehicle.
  14. Adjust the rear alignment. Refer to Wheel Alignment Measurement in Wheel Alignment.
