Battery Voltage Signal: The scan tool displays 6.5-16.5 volts.
The amount of battery voltage available at the Power Steering Control Module (PSCM).
Calculated System Temperature: The scan tool displays ambient
temperature to 135°. The estimated power steering system temperature calculated
from a combination of commanded motor current, voltage levels and input from a temperature
sensor internal to the PSCM.
Motor Command: The scan tool displays 0-65 amps.
The amount of current the PSCM is commanding to the power steering motor.
Steering Shaft Torque: The scan tool displays 14.20 to -14.20 N·m
(10.50 ft-lbs). the amount of torque being applied to the steering column shaft.
A positive value indicates a right turn, a negative value indicates a left turn.
Steering Position Sensor Signal 1: The scan tool displays
0.0-5.0 volts. the amount of signal voltage from the steering wheel position
sensors signal 1 circuit.
Steering Position Sensor Signal 2: The scan tool displays
0.0-5.0 volts. the amount of signal voltage from the steering position
sensor's signal 2 circuit.
Steering Tuning: The scan tool displays 1, or 2. The number
of the steering tuning selected for the vehicle. electric power steering (EPS) requires
different tuning for different levels of assist depending on vehicle content. Steering
tuning 1 is for vehicles with a 4 cyl engine, steering tuning 2
is for vehicles with a 6 cyl engine, steering tuning 3 is for the extended
sedan .
Steering Wheel Position: The scan tool displays 562° to -562°.
The amount of degrees the steering wheel has been turned from center. A positive value
indicates a right turn, a negative value indicates a left turn.
Torque Sensor Signal 1: The scan tool displays 0.25-4.75 volts.
the amount of signal voltage from the torque sensor's signal 1 circuit.
Torque Sensor Signal 2: The scan tool displays 0.25-4.75 volts.
the amount of signal voltage from the torque sensor's signal 2 circuit.
Vehicle Speed: The scan tool displays 0-255 km/h (0-158 mph)
. The actual speed of the vehicle.
