Caution: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.
Caution: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death, always use the jackstands to support the vehicle when lifting the vehicle with a jack.
Notice: Perform the following steps before beginning any vehicle lifting or jacking procedure: • Remove or secure all of the vehicle's contents in order to avoid any shifting or any movement that may occur during the vehicle lifting or jacking procedure. • The lifting equipment or the jacking equipment weight rating must meet or exceed the weight of the vehicle and any vehicle contents. • The lifting equipment or the jacking equipment must meet the operational standards of the lifting equipment or jacking equipment's manufacturer. • Perform the vehicle lifting or jacking procedure on a clean, hard, dry, level surface. • Perform the vehicle lifting or jacking procedure only at the identified lift points. DO NOT allow the lifting equipment or jacking equipment to contact any other vehicle components. Failure to perform the previous steps could result in damage to the lifting equipment or the jacking equipment, the vehicle, and/or the vehicle's contents.
When lifting the vehicle with a frame-contact lift, place the front lift pads at the front pinchweld flanges.
When lifting the vehicle with a frame-contact lift, place the rear lift pads at the rear pinchweld flanges.
When lifting the vehicle with a suspension-contact lift, place the front post lift points at the lower control arms in the area shown (1). Lift the rear of the vehicle with the rear post lift points ONLY under the rear wheels.
When lifting the front of the vehicle with a floor jack, place the floor jack lift pad at the center of the front frame.
Lift the rear of the vehicle by placing the floor jack lift pad at the center of the rear suspension.
Important: Place jackstands ONLY under strong and stable vehicle structures.
Refer to the above image for the frame contact hoist (1), floor jack (2), and the suspension contact hoist (3) lifting points for this vehicle.
Important: The front hoist pads (1) must not contact the rocker panels, the front fenders, or the floor pan.
Position the (frame contact) front hoist pads (1) as follows:
Important: The rear hoist pads must not contact the rocker panels to the outside of the frame rail shipping slot reinforcements or the floor pan.
Position the (frame contact) rear hoist pads as follows:
Position the (suspension contact) front lift under the outer edge of the front suspension lower control arms.
Position the (suspension contact) rear lift under the rear tire and wheel assemblies.
When you are lifting a vehicle with a vehicle jack or a floor jack, block the wheels at the opposite end from which you are lifting. Use jack stands to provide additional support.
Important: The floor jack pad must not contact the rocker panel to the outside of the frame rail shipping slot reinforcements or the floor pan.
Position the floor jack pad under the frame rail shipping slot reinforcements.
Position the floor jack (2) pad as follows:
Important: The floor jack (2) pad must not be placed under the rear suspension crossmember (3) front reinforcement rib.
Position the floor jack (2) pad as shown in the illustration.
Position the jack as shown in the illustration.
Important: The jack stands must not contact the rocker panels, the front fenders or the floor pan.
Position the jack stands as follows:
Under the frame rail shipping slot reinforcements.
Important: The jack stands must not be placed under the (rear suspension crossmember) front reinforcement rib.
Spanning both of the (rear suspension crossmember) rear reinforcement ribs.
