Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 55719  Size: SH
  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
  2. Raise and suitably the support vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  3. Remove the one bolt and the parking brake cable bracket from the underbody and move aside.
  4. Remove the one clamp and the fuel feed inlet hose (5) from the fuel filter.
  5. Remove the two bolts and the fuel filter (2) from the underbody.
  6. Remove the one clamp and the fuel feed outlet hose (1) from the fuel filter.
  7. Remove the one bolt and the fuel filter mounting bracket from the fuel filter.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 55719  Size: SH
  1. Install the fuel filter to the fuel filter mounting bracket and secure with one bolt.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel filter mounting bracket-to-fuel filter bolt to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

    Important: Align the indents on the fuel filter and the fuel filter bracket before tightening the bracket bolt.

  3. Connect the fuel feed outlet hose (1) to the fuel filter (2) and secure with one clamp.
  4. Install the fuel filter to the underbody and secure with two bolts.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel filter mounting bolts to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  6. Connect the fuel feed inlet hose (5) to the fuel filter and secure with one clamp
  7. Install the parking brake cable bracket to the underbody and secure with one bolt.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the parking brake cable bracket bolt to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Connect the negative (-) battery cable.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the negative (-) battery cable-to-negative (-) battery terminal retainer to 5.5 N·m (4 lb ft).

  12. Turn ON the ignition in order to pressurize the fuel system.
  13. Turn OFF the ignition.
  14. Check for any fuel leaks and repair as necessary.
