Perform the following steps in order to properly repair
a leak:
- Identify the leak.
- Trace the leak to the leak's source.
- Determine the cause of the leak.
For example, if a case component mating surface is damaged, resealing
the case component will not repair the leak. The damaged mating surface must
be repaired or replaced. Inspect for and correct conditions that may cause
a transaxle oil leak before attempting to repair a leak. The following
conditions may cause a transaxle oil leak:
Important: The Suzuki 5-speed manual transaxle does not use gaskets in order to
seal major case components. Use GM P/N 12346240 or the equivalent where applicable.
