Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1578858 Size: SH

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the vacuum hose (4) from the MAP sensor (3).
  3. Disconnect the MAP sensor electrical connector (2).
  4. Remove one bolt (1)
  5. Remove the MAP sensor from bulkhead.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1578858 Size: SH
  1. Install the MAP sensor with bracket to bulkhead.
  2. Secure the MAP sensor with one bolt.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the MAP sensor bolt to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  3. Connect the MAP sensor electrical connector.
  4. Connect the vacuum hose to MAP sensor.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the negative battery cable-to-negative battery terminal retainer. to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).
