Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 181797  Size: SH
  1. Loosen the cable adjusting locknuts (1).
  2. Remove accelerator cable from bracket.
  3. Disconnect accelerator cable from the throttle lever (3).
  4. Opening the throttle lever by hand will aide in accelerator cable removal.

  5. Disconnect accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal.
  6. Disconnect the two bolts (2) and accelerator cable (5) and bracket (1) at bulkhead
  7. Disconnect the accelerator control cable (5) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 236863  Size: SH
  1. Install the accelerator cable (5) and the bracket (1) to bulkhead.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Secure with two bolts (2).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the accelerator cable-to-bulkhead bolts to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  5. Connect the accelerator cable to accelerator pedal.

  7. Connect the accelerator cable (2) to throttle lever (3).
  8. Opening the throttle lever by hand will aide in accelerator cable installation.

  9. Connect the accelerator cable to accelerator cable bracket.
  10. Secure with two nuts (1).
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the accelerator cable adjusting locknuts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).
