Removal Procedure

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement.
  3. Remove the DRL mounting bracket. Refer to Daytime Running Lights (DRL) Control Module Replacement.
  4. Remove the 1 screw and the left air duct.

  5. Remove the clutch pedal return spring.
  6. Remove the clevis clip (1) and the pin.

    7. Object Number: 184789 Size: MH
  7. Disconnect the clutch pedal position (CPP) switch electrical connector.
  8. Remove the pedal (9) assembly bracket-to-clutch master cylinder mounting nuts.
  9. Remove the pedal assembly bracket-to-instrument panel bolts.
  10. Remove the clutch pedal assembly from the bracket.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 184789 Size: MH
  1. Install the clutch pedal assembly to the bracket.
  2. Install the pedal assembly bracket onto the clutch master cylinder studs.
  3. Loosely install the clutch master cylinder mounting nuts.

    4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the pedal (9) assembly bracket-to-instrument panel bolts.

    5. Tighten

        • Tighten the clutch master cylinder mounting nuts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).
        • Tighten the pedal assembly bracket-to-instrument panel bolt to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).
  5. Connect the CPP switch electrical connector.

  6. Install the clevis clip (1) and the pin.
  7. Install the clutch pedal return spring.
  8. Install the DRL mounting bracket. Refer to Daytime Running Lights (DRL) Control Module Replacement.
  9. Install the 1 screw and the left air duct.
  10. Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement.
  11. Connect the negative battery cable.
