SERVICE MANUAL UPDATE SEC-10 ROOF RAIL DRIP MOLDINGS

Subject: ROOF RAIL MOLDINGS

Model and Year: 1990 GEO STORM

This procedure supersedes and replaces the "Exterior Drip Molding" procedure found on page 10-9-1 of the 1990 GEO Storm Service Manual.

ROOF RAIL MOLDING

Remove or Disconnect

- Open hatchback door.

- Gently pry the roof rail away from the rear of the roof with a flat bladed tool.

NOTICE: MAKE SURE TO COVER THE FLAT BLADED TOOL WITH TAPE TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE BODY.

Using a knife, cut the roof rail adhesive forward to the windshield molding. Do not cut the windshield adhesive.

1. Roof rail from roof.

IMPORTANT: Do not remove the old adhesive.

Install or Connect

* Apply enough GM # 12345096 (black) or equivalent sealant to the top of roof seam to build up a 4 mm (0.1 6 inch) bead of sealant. Allow sealant to skin over (about 1 to 5 minutes).

1. Roof rail molding to roof starting at the front of the roof. Position the roof rail molding under the windshield molding.

* Press the roof rail molding into place.
