This bulletin revises the statement in the service manual Section 6E3-C2, Fuel Metering Section, for the 1990-91 Service Manual and Supplement for the Chevrolet Geo Storm VIN 5, 6. The statement in this section referring to "Minimum Throttle Valve Position" is as follows:
Minimum Throttle Valve Position (Non-Adjustable)
- It is extremely unlikely that this adjustment will ever be necessary on a throttle body that has not been tampered with after production. If it has been determined that the throttle valve setting is the cause of a "High" or "Low" idle condition and/or Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) setting, it will be necessary to replace the throttle body assembly.
This statement is to replace all references to the Minimum Throttle Valve Position.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
