----------- 1991 Chev/GMC Tracker
1992 Geo Tracker/Asuna Sunrunner
The information contained within this bulletin replaces and supersedes the maximum drum inside diameter specification and the drum-to-shoe clearance gage tool number found on Page 5-18 in the General Brakes (Section 5) of the 1991-92 Tracker Service Manuals (ST377-91 and ST377-92, respectively).
After refinishing, replace any drum that exceeds a maximum inside diameter of 222 mm (8.74 inches). Do not use a brake drum that will not meet this specification. When measuring brake drum inside diameter, use an inside micrometer fitted with proper extension rods or a J21177-A drum-to-shoe clearance gage.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
