Removal Procedure

  1. Open the hood.
  2. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
  3. Siphon the fluid from the reservoir to prevent excess spillage.

  4. Object Number: 793267  Size: SH
  5. Remove the bolts retaining the power steering cooler from the radiator support. Do not discard the upper spacer.
  6. Remove the inlet and outlet cooler hoses from the cooler
  7. Remove the cooler from the vehicle.

  8. Object Number: 793266  Size: SH

    Notice: Do not start the vehicle with any power steering gear inlet or outlet hoses disconnected. When disconnected, plug or cap all openings of components. Failure to do so could result in contamination or loss of power steering fluid and damage to the system.

  9. Disconnect the fitting from the power steering cooler inlet hose at the power steering gear.
  10. Remove the clamp retaining power steering cooler outlet hose to the power steering pump.
  11. Remove the hoses from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 793266  Size: SH
  1. Install the hoses to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Connect the the fitting from the power steering cooler inlet hose to the power steering gear
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the fittings to 28 N·m (20 lb ft).

  5. Install the clamp retaining power steering cooler outlet hose to the power steering pump.

  6. Object Number: 793267  Size: SH
  7. Install the power steering cooler to the radiator support.
  8. Install the inlet and outlet cooler hoses to the cooler. Verify that the O-Rings are in place
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the fittings to 28 N·m (20 lb ft).

  10. Install the power steering cooler mounting bolts. Do not forget to install the upper spacer.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts retaining the power steering cooler to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  12. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
  13. Inspect all the hose connections for leaks.
  14. Close the hood
