Removal Procedure
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the assist step if equipped. Refer to Assist Step Replacement .
  3. Remove the EVAP canister vent valve bracket. Refer to Evaporative Emission Canister Vent Solenoid Valve Replacement in Engine Controls.

    4. Object Number: 797217 Size: SH
  4. Remove the mounting bolts.
  5. Remove the rocker panel protector from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Important: Do not torque the fasteners until they have all have been started.

  1. Install the rocker panel protector to the vehicle.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Loosely install all of the mounting bolts.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  3. Install the EVAP canister vent valve bracket. Refer to Evaporative Emission Canister Vent Solenoid Valve Replacement in Engine Controls.
  4. Install the assist step if equipped. Refer to Assist Step Replacement .
  5. Lower the vehicle.
