When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.
Filling station pump shuts off before fuel tank is full.
Inspect for fuel filler tank vent opening collapsed inside the fuel tank Remove the fuel tank vent hose from the fuel tank. Using a nylon or plastic tie strap at least 10 inches (254 mm long), insert the pointed end of the strap into the elbow fitting of the vent and push it through into the tank. If a solid obstruction is encountered, the vent is collapsed. Correction: Replace the fuel tank.
Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
