Subject: | Service VME - Exhaust Odors or Propane Smell Emanating from Vehicle |
Models: | . |
When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.
Dealers have received complaints from H2 customers of the smell of propane emanating from their vehicles. The condition typically occurs in warm climates with one or more of the windows open. If your Service Department has ever had the opportunity to investigate one of these cases and have identified the cause of the odor, I would ask that you submit a Field Product Report by calling 1 (888) 274-4185. The Truck mailbox number is 32000. Please be sure to include the VIN, mileage, and driving conditions along with your investigative findings. Any information you can provide will help us to help you and your H2 customers.
Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
