When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

SERVICE VME

Customers may indicate they hear a loud metal to metal rattle or chucking noise from the rear cargo/liftgate area of the vehicle when driving over rough roads. The most probable cause is contact between the liftgate latch and the striker on the drivers (left) side of the vehicle. To check for this condition, wrap masking tape around the rear legs of the strikers. Close the liftgate and then reopen it. Inspect the tape on the strikers for scoring on the drivers side. If the tape exhibits a witness mark, the strikers must be adjusted toward the passenger side of the vehicle. Loosen the striker attaching screws and adjust the strikers to the right using a hammer - the striker attachments are on a bendable mounting plate. Recheck for contact using a fresh piece of tape. The liftgate may also have to be adjusted to the left, but this is unlikely. Road test the vehicle to verify that the condition is corrected.
