Subject: | Trailer Brakes Applied When GM Accessory Roof-Mounted Off-Road Spot Lamps are On (Modify Roof-Mounted Off-Road Spot Lamp Wiring Harness) |
Models: | 2003 HUMMER H2 |
with Roof-Mounted Off-Road Spot Lamp Package |
Some customers may comment that when the roof-mounted off-road spot lamps are on, the electronic brakes on the trailer are always applied.
The cause of this condition may be due to the roof-mounted off-road spot lamp wiring harness and the electronic brake controller wiring harness using the same Mid BEC connector cavity. If a customer attempts to tow a trailer equipped with electronic brakes and does not use a controller (requiring them to remove the roof-mounted off-road spot lamp wiring harness from the Mid BEC), the trailer's electronic brakes will be activated when the Roof-Mounted Off-Road Spot Lamps are turned on.
To prevent activation of the trailer's electronic brakes, a modification to the off-road spot lamp wiring harness must be performed. Use the procedure listed below.
