Service VME - Chrome Fuel Filler Door Assembly Installation Issue - kw fuel accessory bolt

When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

This message is going out to make you aware of an installation concern identified with the recently released GM Accessory Chrome Fuel Filler Door Assembly, P/N 12498998, for the Hummer H2. The issue identified relates to one or several of the fastening nuts on the backside of the fuel filler door assembly not oriented properly, causing an interference with the vehicle’s fuel filler door opening when attempting to install this accessory onto the vehicle. This issue can be resolved by simply rotating the interfering bolt & nut assembly with an allen wrench until the fastening nut clears this opening.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
