Service VME - 05 Hummer H2 SUV/SUT Chrome Brush Guard Installation - kw adjust accessory appearance body bumper mount reinforcement service

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom described in the PI.

Some early built 2005 HUMMER H2s were built with the incorrect lower center grille. If the vehicle was ordered with a chrome brush guard, the lower center grille may be that for a vehicle without a brush guard and has endcaps molded in. If the wrong grille is on the vehicle, you are requested to remove enough of the endcap to allow installation of the brush guard mounting brackets. This can be done using a die grinder to cut through the plastic. Be sure to leave approximately 3/8 of the endcap around the edges for appearance purposes but also to smooth any sharp edges or burrs. Claim the labor time required as extra time for the brush guard installation.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
