The liftgate roof molding on the 2005 HUMMER H2 SUV is retained at the outboard ends by two push pin type fasteners. If not correctly oriented, the push pin will pop up after the vehicle has been parked in the sun for a period of time. The top of the push pin receiver is slotted to allow the push pin to be pried up to release it. The slot needs to be aligned in a cross car direction in relation to the vehicle to prevent the pin from inadvertently releasing. CPIT3180heck this during PDI until October 15th in order to prevent a customer from having to return for a repair. Upon inspection, if the slot in the receiver is not oriented in a cross car direction, simply release the push pin, rotate the receiver and push the pin back down so that it fits flush. Should you need a new push pin/receiver assembly, the part number is 11518017.
