Condition

Some customers may comment on a rattle behind the rear seat.

Cause

The welds on the right or left hand rear window run channel may have come loose.

Correction

  1. Lower the rear seats.
  2. Lower the rear window.

  3. Object Number: 1554731  Size: MH
  4. Partially remove the "C" pillar trim. Refer to the illustration above.

  5. Object Number: 1554732  Size: MH
  6. Remove the window trim by pulling the trim forward and then to the center of the vehicle. Refer to the illustration above.
  7. Protect the interior.

  8. Object Number: 1554733  Size: MH
  9. Grind the paint off in the three locations shown. Refer to the illustration above.
  10. Apply three MIG welds to the arrows in step 6. Refer to the illustration above.
  11. Refinish per GM 4901MD-2005 approved Refinish Materials. This information is now online at the GMGOODWRENCH WEB SITE ONLY. Printed books have been discontinued. Steps to the site are as follows:

  13. Reinstall trim.
  14. Raise the seats and rear window.
