The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.

If a customer indicates they have a rattle in the center console area and the cause is determined to be contact between the shifter handle and the PRNDL bezel, the following repair will correct the rattle. Place 4 washers, one between each corner of the shifter assembly and the floor pan at the attaching bolts. The part number of the washer is 15213468 or use an equivalent washer that is approximately 1.3 mm thick. It is not necessary to replace the shifter assembly or any console components.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
