Corrosion of Bolt and Washer Securing Spare Tire Carrier to Bumper (Replace Bolt and Washer)

Some customers may comment on corrosion/rust around the bolts and washers that retain the spare tire carrier to the bumper.

This may be caused by a lack of corrosion protection on the bolt and washer assembly.

Replace the spare tire carrier bolt and washer assembly. Remove and install one bolt at a time in the order seen in the illustration above.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt and washer assembly to 110 N·m (81 lb ft).
