Rubber Seal Under Roof Rail End Caps Comes Loose (Replace End Caps)

Some customers may comment that the roof rail end cap rubber seals are coming loose.

Replace the rear roof rail end caps.

1. Remove the screw that retains the clearance lamp.
2. Remove the lamp by lifting upward.
3. Disconnect the clearance lamp socket.
4. If equipped with luggage carrier cross rails, loosen the lock knobs and slide the rail forward.
5. Remove the two torque screws that retain the end cap.
6. Disengage the rear end cap from the luggage rail and remove.
7. Install the end cap. With a screwdriver, apply some pressure to the tap and slide it into the side rail.
8. Install the two torque screws.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

9. If equipped with luggage carrier cross rail, reposition and secure the lock knobs.
10. Install the lamp socket to the clearance lens.
11. Install the clearance lens to the end cap.
12. Install the screw.

Tighten
Tighten the screw to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).
