Rear Side Marker Lamp Replacement SUV

1. Remove the interior trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Sill Plate Replacement .
2. Remove the wiring harness fastener from the body.



3. Disconnect the electrical connector.
4. Remove the screws from the lamp.
5. Remove the lamp, with the attached harness, from the vehicle.

1. Install the lamp, with the attached harness, to the vehicle.




Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

2. Install the screws to the lamp .

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 3 N·m (26 lb in).

3. Connect the electrical connector.
4. Install the wiring harness fastener to the body.
5. Install the interior trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Sill Plate Replacement .

Rear Side Marker Lamp Replacement SUT Left

1. Remove the LH rear compartment side trim panel (1). Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Left Side.



2. Remove the screws retaining the exterior lamp lens to the outer body panel.



3. Disconnect the electrical connector (4) from the main body harness (2).
4. Remove the left rear side marker lamp with harness from the rear body panel.

1. Position the harness through the body panel opening (3).
2. Connect the electrical connector (4) to the main body harness (2).
3. Ensure the electrical connection is secure to the inside body panel (1).



4. Position the lamp housing to the outer body panel.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

5. Install the screws with foam washers.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 3 N·m (26 lb in).




6. Install the LH rear compartment side trim panel (1). Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Left Side.

Rear Side Marker Lamp Replacement SUT Right

1. Remove the RH rear compartment side trim panel (1). Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Right Side.
2. Remove the screws retaining the exterior lamp lens to the outer body panel.



3. Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the main body harness (5).
4. Remove the RH rear side marker lamp with harness (4) from the rear body panel.

1. Position the harness into the RH rear body opening (3).
2. Connect the electrical connector (1) to the main body harness (5).
3. Ensure the electrical connection is secure to the inside body panel (2).
4. Position the lamp to the outer body panel.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

5. Install the screws with foam washers.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 3 N·m (26 lb in).




6. Install the RH rear compartment side trim panel (1). Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Right Side.
