Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Approved Equipment for Collision Repair Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  3. Remove all related panels and components.
  4. Repair as much of the damage as possible to factory specifications.

  6. Remove the tow hook. Refer to Tow Hook Replacement .
  7. Note the location and remove the sealers and anti-corrosion materials from the repair area, as necessary. Refer to Anti-Corrosion Treatment and Repair .

  8. Object Number: 855415  Size: SH

    Important: Do not damage the frame when removing factor welds.

  9. Locate and remove the factory welds. Note the number, size and location of the welds for installation of the service bumper bracket.

  11. Remove the damaged bumper bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 855419  Size: SH
  1. Prepare all attachment surfaces as necessary.

  2. Object Number: 855431  Size: SH
  3. Position the service bumper bracket.

  4. Object Number: 855433  Size: SH

    Important: Service bumper bracket must be welded in position. Failure to weld the bumper bracket may compromise the structural integrity of the vehicle.

  5. Weld the service bumper bracket as necessary in the locations noted from the original bracket.

  7. Clean and prepare all welded surfaces.
  8. Apply the sealers and anti-corrosion materials to the repair area, as necessary. Refer to Anti-Corrosion Treatment and Repair .
  9. Paint the repair area. Refer to Basecoat/Clearcoat Paint Systems .
  10. Replace the tow hook. Refer to Tow Hook Replacement .
  11. Install all related panels and components.
  12. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  13. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
