Removal Procedure
- Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to
Fuel Pressure Relief
.
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
- Disconnect the chassis wiring harness electrical connector (1) from the fuel pressure sensor.
- Wrap a shop towel around the fuel pressure sensor fitting in order to absorb any fuel that may leak out.
- Remove the fuel pressure sensor from the fuel line.
- Remove and discard the fuel pressure sensor O-ring seal.
Installation Procedure
- Lubricate a NEW fuel pressure sensor O-ring seal with clean engine oil.
- Install the NEW fuel pressure sensor O-ring seal onto the fuel line fitting.
- Wrap a shop towel around the fuel pressure sensor fitting in order to absorb any fuel that may leak out.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the fuel pressure sensor to the fuel line.
Tighten
Tighten the sensor to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).
- Connect the chassis wiring harness electrical connector (1) to the fuel pressure sensor.
- Use the following procedure in order to inspect for leaks:
6.1. | Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF, for 2 seconds. |
6.2. | Turn the ignition OFF for 10 seconds. |
6.3. | Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF. |
6.4. | Inspect for fuel leaks. |
