  1. To adjust the liftgate upward or downward, slightly loosen the bolts retaining the liftgate to the hinge (1).

    2. Object Number: 884979 Size: SH
  2. Adjust the liftgate (1) to the rear bumper fascia (2) gap (A) to 22-24 mm (0.86 in-0.94 in).

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Tighten the bolts (1) retaining the liftgate to the hinge.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  4. To adjust the liftgate inward or outward, remove the rear upper garnish molding trim. Refer to Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding Replacement .

  5. Slightly loosen the bolts retaining the hinge to the vehicle.
  6. Adjust the liftgate (1) to roof (2) gap (A) to 13 mm (0.51 in).
  7. Tighten the bolts (1) retaining the hinge to the vehicle.

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  8. Install the rear upper garnish molding trim. Refer to Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding Replacement .
  9. Operate the liftgate to inspect for proper operation.
